the studio....where inspiration takes shape

a place of process
My studio is nestled beside the water, surrounded by marsh, sky and ever-changing light.
It is both a sanctuary and place of creation.
Every piece begins with wonder and is shaped with intention, patience and reverence for the beauty of nature.
Layers of glass are cut, arranged and fired, often several times, allowing color, texture and light to evolve together.
Other glass components - frit, powders, vitrograph, confetti, paints, enamels and rods are also used.
It is a slow, thoughtful process that honors both the material and the moment.
The coast is my greatest muse - with its quiet mornings, shifting tides, windswept grasses and endless skies.
Living and working here reminds me daily...
that beauty is often found in the quiet moments.
This place shapes me as I shape the glass.
a studio takes shape

The House of Quiet Light provided a large studio space - originally a garage. Our exceptional team of contractors have transformed this space into our new Belhana Glass Studio - at Coveside.
The kilns are in. Benches too. Walls painted. Floor completed. Doors installed.
Now to add glass - in all of its sizes, shapes and forms.

and we're home!

The glass is in! The kilns are firing!
We have moved into our new home - Belhana at Coveside - an atelier that inspires.
